TMFC REDNECK DRAG RACING
![]()
The Too Much Fun Club Racing Team presented their 1st Redneck Harley drag racing on April 15, 2007 at Cedar Creek Dragway outside of Stevens Point, Texas. Where ever this fun-loving team goes, roughly give or take 40 members, they are bound to have fun –or at least make their own. They’re really very resourceful. The group made sure that everyone that came either in the grandstands watching or actually racing –had a memorable, fun day that was worthwhile to come to. This bunch of guys and their gals sure do have a great time together. They’re not afraid to let anyone know it either. They even invite everyone surrounding them to join them too. Before I go any further, on behalf of President Pecker, Pilot Redeye, Director Jim Chandler, whole bunch of TMFC’s gang, and Cedar Creek Dragway, they want to personally thank EVERYONE for sharing the day with them. That Sunday afternoon turned out to be Texas sunny and great for drag racing. They allowed everyone to take lap after lap of practice for pure pleasure until the business of the day started. Besides the drag racing, they threw a bike show where everyone had a chance to vote on their favorites. 1st place of the Custom was won by TMFC John McFadden. 1st place of the Chopper was TMFC Rusty “Titties & Beer” Harpole. 1st place of the Dresser was J. Dilday. He came to event and was convinced by his friend to put it in. The Best of Show went to Robert Hoch. He told me to take plenty of pictures because his family would never believe it. The winner of the 50/50 drawing won $200 plus two tickets to the Hawgs-n-Hills rally went to TMFC Cabon’s ol’ lady Liz. The slow race was won by TMFC Ron Man but Longview’s Shorty Reeds made him earn it. Let’s get down to drag racing. There were basically three brackets – heads up, Money, and Trophy class. The Heads-up class was most competitive with neck-to-neck racing. 1st place went to Nick Eskildsen of Spring, TX who’s sponsored by Houston’s Southern Motorcycle. Nick comes to the races along with his brother racing his own – their father accompanies them as mechanic and makes it a family affair. He also got greedy and took 1st place for the lowest et of 6.65. The money bracket 1st place went to TMFC’S Larry “Redeye” Stice of Dallas. The trophy 1st place went to Irving, TX’s Tim Sahs. He never, ever raced before, thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and will be back. We also had a few bigger fuelers that came out to play for the day in the open fuel class. Dallas’s Fletcher “Jocko” Mitchell brought his crew and let his chief mechanic, Phillip, take a couple laps. But then the last lap, Jocko, just had to mount his ride and take over like the experienced pro he is. Jocko’s sponsored by Phillip’s Garage of Wachatchie, Dallas H-D, H-D of Dallas, Victoria Ranch, MPM, and Ace Powder Coating. Bennett Racing’s Scott “Hotrod” Bennett of Rowlett, TX got back “in the saddle” again for the first time since his mishap at Temple last year. He has a new shoulder along with a new black paint job on his bike which displays black pin-stripping with black flames – very noticeable, huh? Hotrod is sponsored by Energy One Clutches, Amsoil, and Evolution Bike Works. He has one of the finest mechanics/tuner this side of the Mississippi, Paul Jones. Paul, better known as Captain Chrome, did double time and ran his own little drag bike in the bracket events. His ole friend Dennis “Dinky” Davis was his racing foe for the day-especially the Heads-up event. Dinky displayed his photogenic wheelie stands which are always the show-stopper. Longvew’s Norman “Shorty” Reed rode the Dragon Breath’s bike like he stole it – you know, like a pro. This bike is sponsored by Dragon’s Breath Tatto, Firing Line Tattoo, East Texas Equipment, and Smith Country Cycles of Longview. Shorty did double time in the bracket class with his Buell. Then we had TMF Danny Page running pretty straight on Alcohol from Mesa, Arizona. All in all, this was what it was meant to be – a party given by the Too Much Fun Club. Everyone got their fair share of it with a whole lot of running down the track until everyone got down to the business at hand – even that was excited and fun to watch and be a part of. So keep your eye open – there just might be another that you don’t wanna miss.
